Sri Ananda Nadayogi is a distinguished Carnatic musician, trained in Violin and Vocal under the legendary Padma Bhushan Sri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman and his son, Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan. He received his training in the traditional Gurukula system, residing with his Guru and mastering the renowned Lalgudi style—a blend of tradition, innovation, vibrancy, and impeccable technique.
Ananda holds a degree in Indian Music from the University of Madras and has a rich career spanning over three decades. As both an accompanist and soloist, he has performed globally, collaborating across diverse musical genres. His teaching journey has taken him from India to the Middle East, Singapore, and the United States, where he has mentored numerous students in Carnatic Violin and Vocal.
Ananda's contributions to music have been widely recognized. He was honored with the Naadha Guru title in 2017 by Antarnaada, Austin, Kalai Magudam in 2021 by the Austin Tamil Sangam, and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022 by the Geeva Arts Festival, Louisville, Kentucky.
He currently serves as the coordinator for HECSA Cultural wing and as the Carnatic music fulltime faculty at the Portland Balaji temple. Residing in Austin, TX for the past 10 years, Ananda moved back to Portland as a full-time musician, passionately teaching and performing Carnatic Violin and Vocal.
