Teacher: Mini Jairaj
Mini Jairaj is an exceptional versatile artist residing in Portland, Oregon since 2001. She is an accomplished classical dancer and carnatic vocalist. Her initial dance training in Kerala artforms was under the tutelage of her father Guru Sri.T.Radhakrishnan. She pursued her Bharathanatyam training under the guidance of Guru Kalakshetra Vilasini and Guru R.L.V Devi. She did her Mohiniyattam training from Guru Kalamandalam Kalyanikutty Amma and Guru Sridevi Rajan. She is continuing her passion of dancing by learning Kuchipudi from Guru Anuradha Ganesh. Mini has a masters degree in commerce.
As a professional dancer Mini has performed various dance forms at different cultural events internationally. She is a mentor and trains children to perform for cultural events in Portland. Mini is a cultural coordinator for various organizations in Portland. She is an accomplished vocalist who has been singing for many dance arangetrams and dance events in Portland. Mini is also a classical dance make up artist. Her roots from childhood with a passion for Indian classical dance and support of the local community has prompted her to pursue teaching young children. Her hope is to inculcate passion for Bharathnatyam and bring smiles on the faces of young children.
